Jaguar-Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations, its in-house performance division, is turning up the heat on Jag's entry-level model to create the XE SV Project 8. It's dropping a supercharged V8 engine under the hood of the four-door sedan. This new engine gives the XE an eye-popping 590 horsepower, making it the most-powerful car the automaker has ever built.
The sports sedan will also get a host of new aerodynamic upgrades, in addition to its new engine. Production will be extremely limited with only 300 units planned. Each one will be assembled by hand so don't expect the price (unannounced at the moment) for the XE SV Project 8 to be cheap. The special edition will be revealed in its entirety later in the summer, so expect more details on its performance capabilities and price then.
