South Korea Builds World’s Tallest LEGO Tower for the Toy Co
Sarah Nazim — May 18, 2012 — Art & Design
This amazing 105 ft-high structure was built in South Korea to commemorate the toy’s 80th birthday; it is now the world’s tallest LEGO tower ever built. It only took five days to build this building made out of plastic blocks, which is erected in front of Seoul’s Olympic Stadium.
As you can imagine, the tower has lured in over 30,000 visitors. However, it’s important to note that this is not the first time Korea has held a world record in LEGO building. Back in 1996, they built a tower 68 ft tall. It is amazing to see a community of people, young and old, getting together to work on such a project. It goes to show the power of the LEGO brand and its ability to spark creativity in people of all ages.
