Olive Riley was living proof you can never be too old to learn a new technology. This Australian woman only started to blog in February 2007 but she managed more than 70 entries and shared her remarkable outlook on life from the vantage point of someone who lived through the entire tumultuous 20th century. She was born in Broken Hill on 20 October 1899 and died peacefully on July 12, 2008.
"She had people communicating with her from as far away as Russia and America on a continual basis, not just once in a while," her grandson said. "She enjoyed the notoriety -- it kept her mind fresh. She will be mourned not only by her family but by thousands of internet fans the world over."
Her blog called the Life of Riley has some temporary access issues according to the worldsoldestblogger which is the temporary blog set up for Olive in her final month. Her last post there was dated June 26 where she talked about her first week in the nursing home.
What a lady! Her legacy is to encourage us all to keep our minds alert and to share our experiences through blogging.
