‘Tile,’ the “world’s largest lost and found" according to its site, is an inventive new device that helps people keep track of their valuable possessions. Simply attach the matchbox-sized gadget to any item (laptop, keys, wallet, etc.), and that item will be traceable.
It can be programmed to ring so it can be heard when in a close range, thus signalling the location of the lost object. The Tile app (which is only compatible with Apple products) can track distance to the lost item, and displays when one gets closer and further away with a 50-150 ft range.
