The Complex at the Centre of the Universe won first place in a competition run by CGSociety (Society of Digital Artists) and NVIDIA. The NVArt: Art Space Competition challenged artists from around the world to come up with their own grandiose and awe-inspiring vision of the world.
"The entries are a fantastic collection of imaginative explorations," CGSociety says. "There is a strong contingent from the far reaches of Russia and Eastern Europe, most with years of architectural training behind them."
The winner of the contest, Staszek Marek, is a 3D modeler and sculptor.
