Ellie Kim designs a wobbling rocking chair that boasts a modern design language and unique movement system. It is able to rock in all directions with the help of the concave base foundation to ensure that the user's weight will not knock it over.
To combat this possible issue, the chair has fins that extrude from the middle similar to the spokes on a wheel. It looks like a turbine more than a chair. The top fins cradle the seat in place and when it is connected with the bottom half, it supports the motion and weight when it rocks around. Visually, the chair looks like it is floating at the full base is not visible.
