Oksal Yesilok's new set of whimsical playing cards puts a contemporary twist on the classic deck of cards. Although playing cards have been around since the 14th century when they first emerged in popular culture, Yesilok's beautiful designs and unique illustrations make the cards look like something entirely new.
Replacing the universally recognized suits of clubs, diamonds, hearts and spaces, Yesilok's cards instead feature creative symbols and delightful illustrations. The back of each card features a black and white kaleidoscopic image that pairs perfectly with the intricate images on the face of the cards, making the playing cards stand out like any other work of art. Using the technique of vector-based graphics, the project took Yesilok a total of three months to produce the full set of whimsical playing cards.
