Samsung revealed a water powered phone at the 2007 Korea Electronics Show.
The fuel cell phone is powered when water comes into contact with metal to create hydrogen gas. Oh Yonh-soo, Samsung's VP of EM Research, explains, "The gas is then supplied to the fuel cell where it reacts with oxygen in the air to generate power." While most fuel cells require methanol, Samsung's cells only need water. One refill could charge a phone for 10 hours.
The company's goal is to rollout with fuel celled powered phones by 2010.
