The Vizio Portable Smart Audio Runs Android KitKat
Michael Hines — January 9, 2014 — Tech
The Vizio Portable Smart Audio aims to literally and figuratively cut the cord between smartphones and speaker systems. The American electronics company has unveiled a new line of smart stereos that are powered by Android KitKat and can run apps from the Google Play store. The stereos can also stream music and TV shows and movies without the need to be connected to a smartphone or tablet.
That being said, you can still tether your phone or tablet to the Vizio Portable Smart Audio devices and you can even upload songs or shows and movies using a USB. Vizio will release two versions of its Portable Smart Audio devices: one sporting a 4.7-inch screen and another with a 7-inch screen. Vizio hasn't announced pricing or release date details yet, but you can check out the devices in action in the video.
