Vivanta by Taj Hotel is a building currently being built in India and designed by WOW Architects. The challenge with this piece was ensuring it worked well with the surroundings, which are quite chaotic and loud at times.
To keep the hotel looking luxurious, the architects based the designs on traditional architecture from palaces of the region. DesignBoom states that "the Vivanta achieves this through a series of interconnected courtyards and layered public spaces." To ensure that the hotel worked well with both the buildings in the area and the concrete, part of the material used is granite, with the other half being glass to match the other skyscrapers. This also results in an interesting juxtaposition of materials between the harsher rock and the smooth luxuriousness of the glass on one side.
