London-based startup vendi aims to make peer-to-peer marketplace transactions safer for both private buyers and sellers by ensuring product verification and eliminating fraudulent activity. Those interested in joining the vendi community, can download its app -- available for both Google and iOS operating systems. Once a member, participants will be verified before transactions are made. Both buyers and sellers are verified through a three-step process, helping to eliminate common scams that can occur via online resale marketplaces.
“Our mission is two-fold, to make P2P a trusted and mainstream activity enabling people to buy and sell devices at the best prices and to stretch the lifecycle of their electronic goods to reduce electronic-waste" said vendi founder Pablo González-Iglesias about the brand and hopes that "other marketplaces will be able to leverage vendi’s verification-as-a-service to further protect their users against online scams" in the near future.
