The United States-based automaker Ford has teamed up with the security systems company ADT to develop an AI-powered vehicle security system. This system will be called 'Canopy,' and will consist of sensory gadgets that can be purchased and outfitted on current and past Ford trucks and vans. These vehicle accessories include cameras and radar devices that are powered by GPS and LTE network connections.
The Canopy security system features a companion application for mobile devices that allows users to monitor the safety of their vehicle from any location. This app has camera streaming functionality, so users can view different angles around their Ford vehicle remotely, as well as an alarm system activation and a notification feature. This means that users can protect their cargo and their vehicle easily, as any breach in the vehicle will notify both the owner and an ADT operative who can respond accordingly. Plus, the HD video footage being constantly recorded around the vehicle dissuades individuals from acting on the vehicle on its own.
