Valentino launched sneakers made with bio-based and recycled materials to introduce the world to its Open for a Change project.
The luxury brand now offers an environmentally-conscious shoe style to mark its first steps in sustainability. Valentino redesigned two of its signature sneakers with an eco-friendly design to accomplish the goals outlined in the Open for a Change project. The Open and the Rockstud Untitled now include bio-based materials as an alternative to leather. The material is produced from viscose and polyurethane of corn-derived polyols and makes up part of the zipper of both shoes. Moreover, the Open's strings are made of recycled polyester, while the Rockstud Untitled sports its signature studs made of recycled nylon.
