'Android Auto,' the solution that enables drivers to listen to music and answer calls while keeping their attention on the road, has released a new update with a feature called 'USB Startup Diagnostics.' This feature allows the Android Auto software to determine the quality of the USB-C cable that connects the mobile device to the hub, dock, or car it is connecting to.
The way the application performs this diagnostic is by attempting to send data through the cable. If the data is fully received by the hub or the car, then the cable is performing as expected. However, data that fails to send through the cable tells the user that either the cable, the USB port on the car, or the USB-C port on the phone is potentially damaged and should be checked.
