Alex Sobolev Creates a Handmade Instrument That Three People Can Play

As far as unique instruments go, the Triolin sure stands out. Artist Alex Sobolev, who is also an instrument maker, has handcrafted this amazing Triolin, which is a triple violin that allows three people to play this instrument at the same time.
Although this absurd creation is great to look at, it is rather impractical. Since the three violins are attached at the base, it requires that the musicians play the instruments upside down. I can imagine that even the most skilled of violinists would experience difficulties when attempting to play the Triolin, since having to play it with two other people at the same time is surely not easy.
Known for his "Frankenstein instruments," Sobolev is now working on an electric new violin that will mimic sounds from rare and antique violins.
