Vancouver’s newest vintage shop, ‘Union Wood Co,’ will become a staple for residents of the Downtown-Eastside community that crave items with a retro, industrial feel.
Craig Pearce, the founder of the store, was inspired by the industrial buildings and wooden shipping docks that used to cover the Vancouver landscape. ‘Union Wood Co’ is also reminiscent of the owner’s stint as a garbage collector -- where he found joy in repurposing and reusing discarded items.
The store features several hand-crafted pieces created from found objects, while also acting as a haven for vintage thrift shoppers looking for a new DIY project. The store carries furniture and shop aprons while also working with customers to create their own custom items.
