Some of the services featured in this in-app update include bike sharing services and public transportation like street cars or subways that offer an alternative way of getting from point A to point B.
This move followed Uber's acquisition of Jump, an all-electric bike sharing company. Starting in Washington, D.C, users can reserve and pay for Jump's bikes through the Uber app. In addition to this, Uber hopes to leverage the data it collects from the inclusion of other services to make the overall experience more convenient for the consumer.
