American design studio Avenir Creative renovates the Trilogy Montgomery hotel located in Alabama. It restores three historic buildings whilst also honoring the local heritage. Resting along the riverfront, the hotel is home to 117 rooms and reopened with the help of the studio. The buildings are comprised of two early 20th-century warehouses and one Greek mansion that was first built in 1851. Together, they seamlessly combine and embody their own respective characters.
Explaining the importance of honoring the city and its heritage, Avenir Creative states that the hotel is "Designed as a homage to the region's multicultural history, elements throughout the hotel pull from materials and motifs important to the city. The back wall of the front desk has a wood pattern inspired by church window architecture as the King Memorial Baptist Church where Martin Luther King Jr. was the pastor is a large part of the community."
