On Sunday, April 22nd, Toronto's Downsview Park is celebrating Earth Day with its annual tree planting event. Not only does the event help bring more greenery to the park, but it also helps to support a local food bank.
The annual tree planting event takes place in Downsview Park between the hours of 11:30AM and 3:30PM. Volunteers can choose a designated one-hour time slot during which to plant their trees and then spend the rest of the time exploring the park. There will be self-guided park tour brochures available and a drop-in campfire for volunteers to enjoy. To make the event even more beneficial for the community, volunteers will be asked to bring a non-perishable food item to support the North York Harvest Food Bank.
Fun for children and adults alike, the event provides a hands-on way for Torontonians to celebrate Earth Day.
