The Toroid Table may have an overall minimalistic aesthetic, but the sinuous underbelly of the furniture piece adds all the visual interest needed to set it apart from similar creations. The based of the Toroid Table twists and turns like a mini roller coaster beneath the circular glass top. As sculptural as it is, there is an industrial element as well due to the materials used.
Designed by Brazilian architect Luciano da Silveira Araujo and industrial designer Marcelo Alves, partners and directors of OL! Os Loucos, the Toroid Table was greatly influenced by the concept of symmetry and asymmetry. According to the imaginative masterminds behind it, "Its original and registered form is obtained through mathematical logic, classical geometry and parametric modeling, and a little production secret."
