Trend Hunter has already discovered two collections of the talented, award-winning, Danish-born photographer Torkil Gudnason. After all, he has shot for some of the most well-known, prestigious brands around the world as well as for many popular fashion publications.
In his spare time, Gudnason likes to hang his favourite magazine pieces on his studio wall for inspiration. “The image is then more present than in a closed magazine. If I like it, it stays on the wall,” he says. Gudnason blurs the line between fashion and art, with photographs that each tell an unusual story, and lighting and color aesthetically pleasing in every way. These images instantly grab your attention, due to their intricate detail and the different colour splashes that brighten each photo.
Gudnason's image series are insane; only he could shoot a photo of a necklace hanging from a pig's tail!
“Taking pictures is like having babies,” he says. He means that you never know how a photo will turn out. This gallery features a sample of the high fashion digital manipulation that keeps big companies such as Calvin Klein, L’Oreal and Estee Lauder coming back for more. My favorite is the image of the birds, due to its vibrant coloring and uniqueness.
