This superb series by photographer Tommy Ton proves that facial expressions aren't the only way to convey meaning through imagery.

Tommy Ton chose to focus on couples for this candid collection; he was tasked with displaying both men and women's fashion wear in a single image. Instead of making their genders obvious by photographing their whole bodies, Ton instead captured their feet and occasionally their torsos. The viewers can see the contrast between the feminine and masculine fashions and statures, leading them to be very visually stimulated.
