The Shaking Washer, or better known by its designer Jung Seub Lee as The Shaky Wash, is every traveler’s dream. The Shaky Wash allows traveler’s to wash small articles of clothing, such as underwear and socks, and wash them simply by shaking it.
The Shaky Wash is portable – it’s similar in size to a traveler’s mug – and only requires water for it to work. After a thorough shake, the water is removed and a small net is designed to catch the clothes. The futuristic pod capsule-looking device can be powered both by batteries or be charged through a retractable plug. Without the need to find a washing machine or dryer or to soak and wring out a towel on the go, the designer is looking for more environmentally friendly ways to wash clothes by saving water, as well as keeping dirty underwear away from plain public sight.
