The Saraiva Bookstore is located in Rio de Janeiro, and was designed by Studio Arthur Casas with the intention of creating a space that was inviting and relaxing at the same time.
The main section that stands out when walking into the store is the color-coordinated book section on the second floor. Usually books are ordered by genre or author, so looking up and seeing a color-coordinated section is certainly unexpected. However, it adds to the overall decor of the space. There are plenty of areas around the store where visitors can sit back and relax, taking in their favorite book without feeling rushed or pushed to buy. The design of a library is huge in making visitors feel comfortable and welcome, and this was certainly achieved at the Saraiva bookstore.
