The Plod Stool by EBBA Architects is Made From a Single Material
Elena Rahman — April 18, 2022 — Art & Design
The Plod Stool by EBBA Architects is the company's first step into furniture design. Not only is the architectural firm venturing off into new territory, but it is also doing so sustainably with the release of a recycled paper stool. Users can display the stool on its own or combine it in pairs to form a coffee table for a highly versatile design.
Consisting of four flat-backed elements, the Plod Stool is made from a single material called Richlite. The recycled stool's material is commonly designated for cladding, countertops, and skate ramps. According to the company's co-founder Benni Allan, "it's not a material that has yet been used much in furniture, and this is one of the first stools."
