McLeod Bovell Modern Houses designed the Liminal House which is a modern residence located in Canada's West Vancouver area. The home lies between the idea of a suburban tranquility and the rugged look of the Canadian coastline. Right by the sea, the home embodies the idea of liminality which is the state "being betwixt and between, not here or there fully."
The design's philosophy highlights the essence of transition which is highlighted by the homeowner's journey of becoming empty nesters. It is a home but also a narrative of passage “orchestrating movement through space.” The home features a facade made of a blend of textural materials. This includes stained Accoya wood, aluminum plate, and concrete.
