There's nothing the GTA needs more than some softness and femininity in its superstructures, and the 'Absolute Towers' in Mississauga, Ontario, will achieve just that. Yansong Ma, the competition winner for this project's commission, comes from Chinese architectural firm MAD, and has brought with him plans to throw a curve at the Toronto suburb's rigid infrastructure.
It has been decided that two bodacious towers will be erected on the site, one of which is to become 50 storeys, while the other is planned to stand a confident 56 storeys tall. Work is well underway for the erection of the 'Absolute Towers,' affectionately likened to the figure of Marilyn Monroe. It has been a long and complicated undertaking since the project began in 2006, but this stacked structure of rotated oval floor plates is finally taking form.
