Built around a heavy-duty alloy frame, the Tern GSD is an impressive cargo bike that hauls a plethora of goods. The fault of many e-bikes, and regular bikes for that matter, often lies in their inability to carry goods. This was the issue the team at Tern aimed to address as it employed a stout frame, short wheelbase, and 20-inch-wheels to eschew the often cumbersome and unwieldy ride of other cargo bikes. The Tern GSD also leverages a 250-watt Bosh motor that gives riders 275 percent power back to the pedals and can reach 20 mph.
Unlike traditional cargo bikes or e-bikes, the Tern GSD handles much like a conventional commuter bicycle. This is a remarkable feat as the cargo-focused e-bike can carry nearly 400 pounds without feeling any different from a regular e-bike.
