The Temporaries lamp was designed by a three-person team, which included Studio Toon Welling, Jonathan Kraayeveld and Andrius Sta. The design was based on the polyhedron shape, which surprisingly makes for a chic lamp.
According to a note from the artists on The Contemporist, "[the light's] shells are made from wood veneer, distilling light into a warm glow and revealing its organic patterns from within." One of the main reasons the three decided to build the Temporaries lamp was due to its shaped. Basically, they were all intrigued with the design, and wondered how it could be translated into something functional like a piece of furniture. While the design is different than most lamps on the market, it's still extremely versatile, and could add value to a number of different rooms.
