PBS KIDS has partnered with GBH Kids, the Boston-based creators of cult classic Arthur to "co-produce a new interactive digital experience called Team Hamster! that encompasses five videos and three game titles about a group of fluffy critters who moonlight as secret engineers and fix broken things around them."
Created for viewers ages four to eight, Team Hamster! will be available on PBSKIDS.org and PS KIDS Games and Video apps and aims to fuse entertaining video content with hands-on and educational game play. When playing games, viewers will be given a set of unique challenges -- from home improvement projects to crafts -- letting them immerse themselves into the Team Hamster! character story.
This partnership with GBH is not the first of its kind for the company who also hosted an event in October giving Arthur fans a chance to vote on an episodes theme in real time.
