'Take Me Back to Formentera' Recreates European Scenes on Floor Coverings

Last year, Phoebe Sung and Peter Buer embarked on their honeymoon and have were inspired by the captivating location to create their collection of rugs entitled 'Take Me Back to Formentera.' Combining forces, 'Cold Picnic' is the brainchild of the couple, who both have a background in fashion design; Sung worked as an apparel designer and Buer previously worked as a print designer.
Being encompassed in warmth of summer and breathtaking views of one of the Balearic Islands within the west side of the Mediterranean Sea, the couple wanted to make their trip more memorable. In an attempt to bring the Mediterranean vibes right back into their own home in Brooklyn, they captured photographs on their island trip. Using the images to recall their visual memory, they were able to incorporate these visions into these abstract, themed carpets.
