The Sylki Chair, also known as the Black Swan Chair, is a striking piece of furniture that could easily fit in a futuristic home designed for a sci-fi flick. The indentations present throughout the design gives it a faceted aesthetic that is reminiscent of a crystal. The organic nature of the Sylki Chair is perpetuated by the perforations pockmarking the surface.
Designed by Brooklyn-based studio POD Design, the Sylki Chair wasn't given a geometrical surface for looks alone. The undulations and indentations were specifically created to enhance comfort while distributing pressure on joints. Strikingly elegant and ergonomic, the Sylki Chair is made out of a single sheet of laser-cut, 20 gauge recycled metal. Weighing 'less than a bottle of wine,' according to the designers, it can support up to 250 pounds.
