Acer released two new 'Swift Go' models at CES 2024 shortly after announcing the Swift Go 14 in November of last year. The two models, the Swift Go 14 and Swift Go 16, are being touted as 'AI PCs' by Acer, due to the high-speed NPU (Neural Processing Unit) on the Intel Core Ultra processors included in these laptops. This processor enables what the company refers to as 'AI Boost,' which utilizes AI to push the processor, its GPU, and its NPU, beyond what it should be capable of with the specifications that it has on paper. A large part of this benefit comes to AI-based workloads, such as those relevant to Intel's AI ecosystem, or more general AI workloads, such as generative AI applications.
In terms of the hardware specifications beyond the AI-powered processing unit, these laptops are configurable with up to 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 2TB of M.2 NVMe SSD storage. Aside from the memory and storage options, these laptops are also configurable in terms of their processing unit and connectivity, as they can be ordered with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor featuring Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.2, or an Intel Core Ultra 7 processor with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.1.
