The North Face continues to work in collaboration with streetwear imprint UNDERCOVER on a pair of the Summit Offtrail TR sneaker models. The shoe's upper forefoot panel is an experimental silhouette prepared for off-roading and running -- it is made from Matryx fabric, a performance textile that is constructed from Kevlar.
The technical fiber is ten times stronger than steel, and the Summit Offtrail TR worn on the foot is made from the same material that is used to create bulletproof vests. The outdoor model is meant for runners to explore the rugged trails and other off-road spaces where the ground can feel unstable. The large 7mm lugs on the Summit Offtrail TR sole unit are supportive of this.
