Mercedes-Benz and Bosch Launch a New Service in Stuttgart

Mercedes-Benz works together with Bosch to launch a new automated parking system that is implemented at the parking garage in Germany's Stuttgart Airport. The Germany Federal Motor Transport Authority approves of the system, making it the first highly-automated driverless parking function in the world.
Notably, the SAE Level 4 System does not need the driver to be driving when the features are engaged, without needing to take over at any time either. This means that it allows drivers to step out of their car and send it off to a pre-booked parking space simply by selecting a feature through the connected app, similar to the way that a driverless valet service works. When the car is needed again, the vehicle returns to the same pick-up spot.
