Indian design firm Studio Saransh has blended elements of black basalt with steel as a part of its self-designed Oasis workspace. It is nestled in the suburbs of Ahmedabad, India and the studio relocated from the city center to the quiet suburban space. This was done on purpose to move away from the loud chaos that comes with a busy city. The firm had created five blocks on the location, surrounding a central and sunken courtyard -- all of which connect by the walkways.
The studio explained, "The water contributes to the sensory experience, creating a soothing ambiance, while helping the courtyard stay cooler through the day. Visitors in the courtyard become active participants in this unfolding narrative of a day at the studio. One can find people in this space all through the day, having enthusiastic discussions over a coffee, having a heated argument with someone over a phone, watching tiny fishes in the pond getting eaten by herons or just sitting and sketching."
