The Houston Airport System has taken the idea of spaceports and turned it into a workable concept that will launch us into the future. The ‘Houston Spaceport’ concept could be the future of the Ellington Airport, and would offer a variety of learning programs, a cosmic terminal, a launch site for satellites and even zero gravity simulations.
The Spaceport could change the way we understand space and form a new area of education and job opportunities for engineering and travel or tourism industries. At the Spaceport, there would be reusable launch vehicles that would rocket launch and land repeatedly.
Commercial spaceflights, astronaut training, and space tourism would also be offered. Let’s hope this concept becomes a reality soon!
