Google created a new accessibility feature for mobile devices, named Sound Notifications. Sound Notifications will use the device's microphone to listen to sounds like appliances, running water or more, and it can send users a push notification. The system can also be integrated with the user's smartwatch,
Users can set up sound notifications in their Accessibility settings, and it is not enabled by default.
After Sound notifications are set up it will notify the user when it hears one of ten sounds, including baby noises, water running, smoke or fire alarms, or knocks on the door. Sound Notifications can help users with hearing difficulties navigate their environment, or by anyone looking to be notified when certain sounds occur.
