SONIX, a Swiss communications platform for esports, has recently announced its expansion into the US market. The app, which claims to offer low-latency voice and video communication for gamers, has partnered with the University of North Carolina (UNC) for its 'Niner Esports Union Lan Party.'
The app is still in the beta phase and has not revealed its official launch date yet. However, it has already secured two European partnerships: with France’s Gaming Campus and Lausanne-Sport Esports. SONIX aims to provide a seamless and immersive gaming experience for players across different platforms and devices.
SONIX was founded in 2016 as TYXIT, a spin-off from EPFL (Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne). The company changed its name to SONIX in 2022 and received funding from Swisscom Ventures and Investiere.ch. SONIX competes with other popular gaming communication apps such as Discord and TeamSpeak.
According to MarketsandMarkets, the global acoustic microscopy market is expected to grow from USD $951 Million in 2018 to USD $1,241.2 Million by 2023. SONIX hopes to capture a significant share of this market with its innovative technology and user-friendly interface.
