Believe it or not, you won't actually have to put any work into the SolarCross ebike in order to get something out of it. The two-wheeler features a set of solar panels that convert the sun's energy immediately to make your personal conveyance move.
This innovative DIY creation is the work of Terry Hope, a self-taught solar electric bicycle builder. He began with a standard hybrid pushbike as the base of his project, upon which he's installed a total of eight photovoltaic panels over the handlebars and behind the seat.
While the solar cells do stick out quite a bit, they're sufficiently lightweight to give the design real potential. The SolarCross e-bike concept is being tweaked continuously to gradually produce a model that's faster, more aesthetically pleasing and efficient.
