These lovely Soft Lights by Rainer Mutsch have a greatly different look from typical fixtures. Wall and pendant lamps are often made from very hard materials like glass and metal and the only gentle aesthetic is achieved with muted colors, diffuse illumination and warm lightbulbs.
Working with manufacturer Molto Luce, the designer chose to use fiber cement to make this series of room brighteners. Eternit's eco-friendly material is made from cellulose fibers and water to produce a substance that can be hand-molded into forms that resemble delicate drapery. It might be hard, but it doesn't appear so.
The subtle folds and undulations in the illuminators really soften the atmosphere in the room. Soft Lights by Rainer Mutsch would be especially fitting in bedrooms and in lounges.
