eBay is launching the 'Sneaker Academy' a new 14-week workshop for up-and-coming entrepreneurs looking for industry advice and quality coaching. Created in partnership with Hatch Enterprise, the workshops will cover topics such as finance, online and cover marketing, legal, sneaker resale, and broader business topics relevant to e-commerce. The program is open to 18 to 30-year-olds and will run from May 17 to August 14, 2023.
Workshop attendees will also get reduced eBay selling fees for six months, support from a resale business expert, and the opportunity to apply for a 1,500 cash grant funded by the platform.
Wahaaj Shabbir, eBay’s head of sneakers UK, commented: “Our mission when it comes to sneakers is to make them accessible to everyone, and this programme aims to do the same for sellers - levelling the playing field for those passionate about the product but who face barriers to starting their own business.”
