The Smithe One 'Brick and Meat' collection is a series of dismembered humans, elegantly adorned with intestines. Smithe's compositional style is disturbing, yet nostalgic. With the use of retro hues and soft coloring, the pieces have a slight nostalgic edge.
The motif of collection falls on self-destruction and the dismemberment from soul, body, wants and needs. The subjects of the violent works are often seen creating their own demise, or at least contented upon guts spilling from varied surfaces.
