Path-Illuminating Footwear

The Vibram 'Smart Concept Sole' illuminates your path as you run using built-in headlights. The high-tech soles include a lighting system that gives runners a complete view of the area around them. Bright piercing lights in the front of the soles light up the area in front of runners so that they can avoid obstacles and run safely.

The Smart Concept Soles were built with an electronic board and a remote control to give users the ability to control the lights. Users can toggle through three brightness settings using the accompanying wireless remote.

Vibram's concept sole design was initially created for military use but the firm saw a potential market in recreational users. Runners and others who prefer to walk around in the dark could benefit from the increased visibility that the soles provide.
