Contadores de Estorias (Storytellers) is a Brazilian troupe of puppets for adults that has been in existence for 30 years.
The Storytellers, comprised of Rachel and Marcos Caetano Ribas from the beach town of Parati, have been traveling the world with the puppets which they made by hand.
The peculiar thing about these marionettes is that all the communication between them and the audience is done only through gestures, and not the spoken word.
“I believe that some of the vignettes that we have presented would not work properly if they were done by live actors,” the couple told PingMag.
It’s really amazing how these puppets can communicate feelings and human emotions without a verbal exchange.
