Shrub by Zhili Liu Adds Style to Required Functionality
Jessica Marcel — November 15, 2009 — Art & Design
Shanghai designer Zhili Liu wanted to add a little style to the sea of Chinese furniture that considers only function in its design. Indeed, Shrub by Zhili Liu has a dash of style but still plenty of functionality.
An otherwise all white design is dotted with colored bolts which hold the legs in place to the underside of the table. Shrub by Zhili Liu is great minimalist furniture with a hint of personality.
Implications - The demand for nature-inspired products is on the rise in response to the over abundance of technology to have taken over first world nations. Consumers want to lead lives separate from devices, which they commonly associate with work. Corporations looking to appeal to consumers should therefore use nature-inspired design elements in their wares.
