Google is now letting businesses sell items free of charge on the Shopping tab. The tech giant added free access to the Shopping tab in order to help retailers’ transition to selling goods online. Additionally, listing items online will help alleviate the financial effects of COVID-19 for participating organizations.
Google’s Shopping tab will be updated this month for users in the United States. Additionally, Google has partnered with PayPal to allow a business to link accounts to the Shopping tab, and it is already working with Shopify, WooCommerce, as well as BigCommerce.
This shift demonstrates how Google is pivoting to help other organizations during uncertain economic times, and the shift will allow many retailers to get better access to consumers looking to purchase goods.
