This Sex Exhibition Highlights Intimate Art

'For Play' is a tongue-in-cheek name for the sex exhibition that is being displayed at this year's 'Dutch Design Week.'
The exhibition completely rejects the norms associated with erotic industries and instead chooses to represent the intimate act in a way that is more focused on art and design. It features work from 37 different artists and designers who were able to interpret the word "sex" in whatever visual or experiential way they wished. One of the sex exhibition's curators also said that it was in part a response to and rejection of the simplistic notion that the future of sex is in virtual reality and nothing else.
The For Play exhibition works to create an evolved representation of sex while avoiding the relatively straightforward jump to virtual reality that is most often considered when thinking about the future of the act and the way it is perceived and commodified.
