Seilfaktur by Angelika Hess, a student in the Interior Architecture program at The University of Applied Sciences in Rosenheim, is a collection of furniture made out of old rope often used for rappelling and climbing. Considering the school's vicinity to the Alps, the abundance of used rope can prove a problem. This collection offers a practical and aesthetically pleasing solution.
Vibrantly colorful and patterned, the rope material yields a lot of visual interest for the home. Seilfaktur by Angelika Hess is comprised of three products. Liesl is a formless double-knitted cushion. Seilschaft couples the rope with PVC pipe for a more structured seat that can accommodate lounging, upright sitting or storage. Lastly, Betthupferl is a sinuously bendable lighting system supported by metal.
