Cutting Edge Art by Shannon Couture
Shannon Couture's scissor art (Kingmaker Studio) had an idea to create three dimensional sculptures out of “found†objects. By grouping several together, a pattern forms much like crystalline and natural structures. Here is art that imitates nature, for the very best of the scissor art are the spiders.
The scissor art sculpture series is a limited edition pending the artist being able to get the required scissors in the quantities needed and at the right price. I had no idea making these sculptures could be harmful - the artist had to go to the emergency room because whilst grinding, a small piece of metal worked itself past the protective goggles. The doctor had to remove the lodged metal with an 18 gauge needle. Ouch.
